The food is good but slightly over priced. However, the host/owner was quite rude. We were told we couldn't sit inside at a table of 6 with our party of four. The host sat us outside (it was 57 degrees) and didn't check on us once after he served our food. We waited for 20 minutes after we finished eating to get our check and then he said he couldn't manually enter our credit card information. Perhaps he should stay behind the scenes, it doesn't seem he's doing his business any favors.

Tried it out because we were starved and looking for a good breakfast place. Unfortunately, this was not the place. We still ate because we were staved and there seemed to be nothing else. There was absolutely no variety, only crepes and soup and salad. And the prices were absolutely overpriced for what you get. The egg and ham were pretty good, along with the yummy fruit that comes with it. And the "house" lemonade was really good except it tasted just like bottled lemonade. Overall, my opinion is that it is very overpriced and doesn't have very much variety. But if you're looking for an overpriced crepe and soup and salad, stop on in.

We were told to "take a walk" by the rude French Man on Mother's Day because "it would be a very long time before we ate". Take a walk where? No mention of how long we would have to wait or no names on a list? This isn't how you treat loyal customers. Just another reason to dislike the French.

We had just got into New Buffalo and were looking for our first meal of the day at 3:45pm. We found this place on Yelp and when we called them, they invited us to come in even though they actually close at 4pm. The food -- Crepes de legume and Crepes de Nutella -- were both really very good and the salad + fruits that came with each portion of crepes respectively were deliciously fresh! The patio/garden outdoor seating is very well-decorated and we really enjoyed the overall experience here - food, hospitality and ambiance. Definite recommendation for any vegetarians visiting!

Great stopping spot for those driving up the Michigan coast!! Its a little piece of france in New Buffalo, MI (really?). Its located in the most unassuming spot in a neighborhood near downtown New Buffalo. I found this recommendation on chow hound. We had lunch on the outdoor patio. The menu is simple - salads, sweet crepes, savory crepes. The biggest standout is the freshness of the ingredients! Locally sourced produce for sure. Loved everything - Ham & cheese crepe with portabello mushrooms added. Savory and delicious! Comes with a sizable side salad. - Chicken salad, salad: First the chicken salad (made with amish chicken) was perfect, whole grapes and not too mayonnaise-y. The salad within was so fresh, packed with tons to great greens/beets/radishes/tangerines. So simple but just amazing. A perfect stopping spot for visitors coming through the area!! Highly recommended.

A true hidden gem, ate here for the first time and was blown away by their food. Great food, nice portions, a little on the pricey side is what holds me back from giving them 5 stars.

Amazing Nutella crepe!!! Quaint atmosphere and great customer service. The cook makes everything from scratch:)

The host was rude. He must have issues. We got seated at a small table next to other tables that barely had enough elbow room. The waitress kept bumping into us every time she had to attend to the people behind us. Not worth the money we paid for two people.

I hope I can do this wonderful restaurant justice, but you really have to taste to get the full experience. First, the owners are very gracious and run this place like clockwork. Everyone knows their job and are attentive and know so many of the guests. THey take a lot of pride in their food, and take care to pick fresh and ripe incredients so the taste is what they meant it to be. This is old school european cooking, everything is full of flavor. We all tried different entres and also tried one of the tarts. Everything was incredible. I have to say, I am not shy about sending food back, I am picky about what I eat, my husband joked that I could not find one thing to say that needed improvements. I make crepes, and got a lot of good ideas too! I would agree that this place is not advertised well, we found it by driving past. MAKE THIS PLACE A MUST when you visit New Buffalo, you will return often!

Great spot for a leisurely brunch/late lunch. Intelligentsia coffee and fabulous crepes...nom. Something for everyone. Gorgeous venue and friendly atmosphere. Adorable decor and friendly service. We escaped the rain and enjoyed the enclosed patio area. One of my favorite places in downtown NB.

This was a lovely little spot on Red Arrow Highway just a walk up from Lake Michigan. The wild mushroom soup and the tea selection was excellent. The hot chocolate is also highly recommended.

I'm sorry. $80 for four crepes, one bowl of soup, one cup of coffee and two iced teas should buy excellent service. Period. Hideously overpriced street food (but just as amazingly delicious as any I've had in the streets of Paris -- or even in little places in Chicago) with horribly slow and worse -- unapologetic service. I think it's worth mentioning the street food aspect here only because in Paris it's common to find vendors who make identically amazing crepes from carts in the streets (ham and egg, Grand Marnier, etc) in under two minutes right in front of you. My point is that crepes are not complex or time consuming. But here, we waited 75 minutes (SEVENTY FIVE MINUTES) with two children. We considered leaving and eating lunch somewhere else at one point. Our waiter was nowhere to be found, seemingly hiding out and then popping up at other customer's tables with a fake smile and then disappearing again. I finally had to hunt him down. But what takes the cake is the owner. I approached him at the bar, and he looked at me and then turned around and walked away. What? I was almost ready to follow him into the kitchen when our waiter appeared. He assured us that they "were working on it." He and a new second waiter returned in about 5 minutes with our plates. The mushroom soup was excellent.

Had a fantastic lunch here, starting with their homemade tomato soup with dumplings, then a main course of the crab salad (it was a special for the day) and splitting a Nutella crepe for dessert. I loved all the fruit that came with my friends' crepes (they both got the chicken crepe). I had a wonderful cappucino as well. The salad with their homeade honey dijon dressing is wonderful. The house this restaurant in is very cute - all in all, it was just a really nice/fun place to have lunch. I'm not sad I didn't get a crepe for the main meal even - the crab salad was SO delicious, full of dill and fresh crab, celery and mixed up with mayo (man, I love mayo) Service was great (although we were the first ones in that morning), food was delicious, atmosphere was perfect. 5 stars!

Excellent, fresh, a little stuffy atmosphere but it's French so I can deal with it. Very very good crape's.

Because we only visit Harbor Country seasonally, we can't visit Pierre Anne as often as we'd like. The crepes and salads are consistently creatively prepared. The decor is clean, homey and inviting. The service consistently good. It's a "must visit" place for a healthy, tasty brunch or lunch. Try it!

One of the few restaurants in New Buffalo that can boast of a chef in the kitchen and not just a line cook. Olde worlde country elegance inside. There's outside dining too in a small area with a fountain out back. A favorite spot. There is a French woman in the kitchen and it shows in the food. Start with soup- it doesn't matter what kind, it will be good and there's crusty French bread to mop up the bottom of the bowl. It's Ok to lick the spoon and suck your cloth napkin if some of the soup fell on it. Savory crepes including beef stroganoff or chicken come with a delightful and different salad on the plate. Many fresh garden ingredients including fruit harmonize on the plate. There are vegetarian crepes and breakfast crepes with ham and eggs inside. I reccommend the lemonade to wet your whistle on a warm day. For dessert-and even if you are already stuffed you'll want to order one when you see one pass by your table- there are dessert crepes with sliced fruit and chocolate with whipped cream. Service is always prompt and friendly. Not the cheapest breakfast or lunch (they close at 4pm) in New Buffalo but probably the only one you will remember fondly and wish to repeat. The food is prepared by someone with skill who really cares what goes on the plate. C'est tres bon!

We love this place, visiting every other week or so. We love the food, the atmosphere, and the wait staff. Often the specials are out of this world! See you again in a couple of weeks!

Wonderful! Although Yelp says this is a kid friendly restaurant it might be a little too quaint for kids (at least a little too quiet for our two and four yr old). The gentleman who greeted us and took our order was very accommodating. He even made chocolate milk for our daughter! And it was as delicious as our coffee, quiche and crepes. Everything was fresh and filling! Very cozy, very cute and extremely delicious!

It's a lovely creperie located just a few minute walk away from the beach. We really enjoyed our crepes - eggs and spinach, and ham and guyere - and had a great time in the back patio. The service was impeccably nice and efficient. The ambiance was delightful. Most importantly, the food was delicious. Bravo!

  • Sean Y.

Went here a few weeks ago - all the tables were full, but there was no one else waiting and there seemed to be a good number of people on staff, so felt that the long wait before anyone even acknowledged us and even after we were acknowledged, made us want to leave. Just as we were about to leave, they said our table was ready. We really wanted to like this place after reading all these outstanding Yelp reviews and the nice atmosphere at the restaurant, but the overall lack of service before and during our meal and average tasting but expensive food made it hard to enjoy.

This place has the most delicious crepes, soup and deserts. It is the perfect location for a quiet, lazy brunch. Everything I have eaten here is a delectable, savory (or sweet!) delight but my favorite is the crepe legumes (vegetables) with gruyere. Highly recommended! They are located in a turn of the century home along US12 into New Buffalo, MI. Please note that they have seasonal hours (Eastern time) and do not take reservations due to their small size.

I will swing by this place anytime I am in Michigan now. The food was so beautiful, we all took pictures. And the flavor was unreal. Crepes for every taste. I had the salmon crepe and the nutella crepe for dessert. We sat on a back patio in a covered garden area with a group of 8 and it was absolutely perfect. I can't wait to bring more people, because it's really an unbelievable place all around.

We love the crepes here... Whether sweet or savory! The ingredients are clearly very fresh, especially the fruits and vegetables. It's well worth the drive.

So cute! This place is a great spot. We had breakfast - 1 savory crepe and 1 sweet crepe - both with fresh fruit and they were both delicious and perfect. The soup of the day was cauliflower - YUM! I'll be back!

This place is a beautiful little gem in New Buffalo. We went there during a stay for a bachelorette party, and it was perfectly girlie and delicious. The crepe selection was great, both sweet and savory, and the prices were really reasonable. My only complaint is that they don't serve alcohol, and we were in the mood for mimosas.

Delicieux! This restaurant would be a find even en France. Harbor Country is very lucky to have it.

Excellent crepes for any taste. The food is fresh and healthy. Quality is always very consistent. Service is always above par. The salads that come with many crepes are very good. Try it, you'll be back.

Excellent crepes! Came with a generous side salad made with tons of fresh ingredients (even shredded beets).. so good! Average customer seemed to skew more towards retirement age, or maybe we were just there at an odd time? Anyway the food was awesome.

I was expecting a crepe stand or maybe a fast casual eatery. This was a nice surprise, slightly more than casual, but not formal. It soba beach town after all. Had lunch with family of four, including a toddler and 4-year old. They were very attentive with the kids. The service was quick, but they suggested the kids explore the private garden if they got antsy. We saw mint and basil growing in the garden...it sure looked like the fresh stuff on our plates! Was it cheap? No. Was it a fair price for French cuisine? Yes! We may have gone twice if we came earlier in our weeklong stay. If you appreciate fine food with subtle flavors, go. Dave

This place is absolutely delicious! The environment is calm and quiet and everything on their menu is outstanding. No matter if you're in the mood for salty or sweet, their crepes are terrific.

Amazing lunch. Cute inside. Nice "outside" - not your typical outdoor exposure... more of a screened porch experience but way better. Sweet and savory crepes. Our group all enjoyed our choices and decided this was our favorite meal of the weekend!! Perfectly portioned to boot! Nice to leave pleasantly full, without left overs or wanting more. Wasn't an issue for us, but note they don't do separate checks. But choices pretty evenly priced, so easy enough to simply divide the bill evenly.

I didn't realize Pierre Anne has been around the NB area for a long time already, and yet this is the first I've heard of this really quaint house-turned-restaurant in all the times we've passed by/been to this area. The menu of crepes is prolific, lots of savory and sweet options. And I do dare make this bold statement, I've had many crepes over the years, and this is by far the best savory (beef stroganoff) crepe I've ever had. The beef was tender and the sauce was delightful. It came with a side of fresh fruit, which was a refreshing change from a normal salad. Top that off with a mango iced tea, and I was literally in hog heaven. They do serve espresso type drinks, but as much as I love coffee, I just wasn't feelin' it then. They have an outside seating area, which we didn't think to sit at because it was a hot day and AC sounded like a much better choice, but the outside area is shaded/covered, so it would've been perfectly fine to sit outside even on a hot day. I suppose we'll just have to go back again! Note: Either go there as soon as it opens (either 10 or 11 depending on which day of the week), or later (1pm or after). After we sat down, we heard the servers talking about what a mad rush it was around noon. Good thing we took our good sweet time to decide on where we wanted to eat at.

Walking up the ramp to enter, I enjoyed the brightly filled flower boxes with the orange, yellow, red, and white flowers. We followed yelp advice and went later like 1:15 and sat immediately. The music was instrumental and the perfect volume. The place is "cozy" Our waitress, Christy, was good natured and handled our vivacious table perfectly. I ordered the breakfast crepe with spinach after Christy gave me a very detailed description of the vegetable crepe. It was really good and the portion huge. Personally I would ask for more spinach and less ham next time. I loved the cheesy flavor. The side salad is also huge and satisfies the craving for greens. Only bad things: they don't take credit cards, no WiFi, and no bar.

Au Chocolate Crepe w/ Vanilla Custard Two Crepes filled with Vanilla Flavored Custard. Topped with a Raspberry Drizzle, Whipped Cream, Chocolate and Caramel. All served with a side of Fresh Seasonal Fruit - $9.50 OK, first off, I'm a fan of crepes. Yes the meat-eater in me has a bit of a soft side....get over it! LOL! No, seriously, the crepes here are off the chain! Every crepe on the menu is made from scratch as well as being made to order, following a European tradition passed down for generations. Having the Au Chocolate Crepe in the morning is even more perfect, as it adds a sugary caffeine boost to start your day. The atmosphere is very unique. The family operated creperie offers comfortable and casual setting located within a lovely Victorian home that's over a hundred years old. In 2008 an art gallery was added to enhance one's overall enjoyment.

I LOVE a crepe, these were good, but not in my top 10 crepes of all time. I had the breakfast crepe with Mushrooms. The best crepe at the table was the Beef bourgnion. It was okay. What did bug me was that the owner lady kept walking behind my chair and grabbing it to get through the space behind me - seriously about 10 times during our meal. It really got on my nerves. I did love the unsweetened Mango iced tea and our server Christy was nice and efficient.

Amazing but a bit pricy. I would say give it a try! The servings are in a pretty good amount so you may want to share if you aren't a big breakfast person.

We sat outside on the covered patio, it was so cute and homey. It reminded me of a French tea garden. The crepes were fantastic. Very homemade feel to the food, I had the ham and cheese crepe, delicious!

Best crêpe I have ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Even better than Paris...and trust me I tried every crêpe I could get my hands on while in France. Today was my first time trying Pierre Anne, but my boyfriend and his family are veterans of the place. I ordered the Crêpe aux Epinards (spinach crêpe) & my boyfriend ordered the Banana Crêpe, which comes drizzled in chocolate sauce and freshly whipped cream. Both were absolutely incredible. Next time, I'm definitely getting the Banana & Nutella crêpe because who doesn't love dessert for breakfast? Will definitely be back!

A picture doesn't do this place justice. I had their asparagus soup which was delicious. The side salad was AMAZING. And the specially seafood crepe was to die for. Started my day right here. Very impressed!!!

We enjoyed brunch here recently. We ordered a lunch crepe and a desert crepe. Both were quite good, as was the home made soup and fresh salad. Both were chock full of tasty veggies. The surroundings were also nice. The setting was very pleasant and clean. That said, we were greeted by the surly owner who mumbled and grumbled his way through the meal and then hollered across the restaurant that he was going to wash his car. Huh? Also, the waitress could use some lessons in basic friendliness and customer engagement. Keep that crap at home, please. Also, WTF with no credit cards?

First of all this restaurant is in the cutest house ever! We sat in the kitchen/dining area next to the kitchen and the whole place just felt so comfy like a bed and breakfast. The staff was friendly and the food was amazing. The food selections are limited mainly to crepes, soups and salads but man oh man, the crepes! I had to try the beef stroganoff crepe as I LOVE beef stroganoff and my boyfriend tried a prosciutto crepe with caramelized onions and gruyere cheese (one of the specials). The beef stroganoff was great but that prosciutto crepe was one of the best savory crepes I have ever had! The crepes come with either a house salad or fruit so we tried one of each. The house salad tasted fresh with the honey dijon dressing and the variety of fruit provided was sweet and fresh. I liked the crepes so much I even had to order a Nutella crepe with bananas just so I could try a sweet crepe! All were amazing! Every time we come to Michigan, this place will be a mandatory stop!

Lovely Setting to Enjoy Good Food I come here regularly, but hadn't updated my review in several years. I had lunch here with my daughter a couple days ago and we both remarked on how fresh the food tastes and how beautifully it is presented. I had the quiche of the day which was spinach and asiago and my daughter had the crepe of the day which included artichokes and sun dried tomatoes. Each came surrounded by radishes, pears, beets, carrots, and leafy greens lightly drizzled with a lemony dressing. Delicious! THEY NO LONGER ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS (which was a surprise), but fortunately I had enough cash to cover our lunch.

I don't understand what all the raves are about. This place was a big disappointment. I have had better crepes on the streets of San Francisco. (Literally!) I read a lot about how great the soups were, so decided to try the soup of the day which happened to be asparagus. I love asparagus. This soup was bland, flavorless and lukewarm at best. None of that great asparagus flavor was to be found. On to the crepes. I had the spinach and egg crepe. The crepe itself was a bit thick and spongey for a true french crepe. Again the egg and spinach was bland and the goat cheese (which I love) sauce had a really off flavor. I didn't taste any of the other crepes at our table but although they were stuffed with the menu listed ingredients the whole table had the same comment - "Bland". We ended the meal with the table sharing the dessert of the day, an apricot tart. It was very pretty and was probably the best item we ordered but that is not saying much. After the meal we went out back (through the back patio door, through the garden and up the stairs) to the small art studio. It is cute and worth a look, see, if you have moment or two. Won't take long, as it is very small.

I don't consider myself a crepe connoisseur by any stretch of the imagination, but there isn't a creperie anywhere that I can pass up without trying. That being said... This place is one if the best I've ever been to. And I've been to creperies as far as Paris. The cafe/restaurant itself is quaint and very welcoming, as is the staff. There aren't enough adjectives in the world to describe how incredible the crepes are (I highly recommend the simple nutella crepe with freshly sliced strawberries). If you're ever in New Buffalo, do NOT pass this place up. In fact, make it a point to go there. And enjoy!

The crepes were awesome, service was attentive and atmosphere was nice. Definitely worth trying it out if you are looking for a place for brunch and crave something different. They have a great selection of sweet and savory crepes along with some salads.
